Summer university for women in Albania

MISSION
To work with women in Albania, in order to develop training among women for a better economic efficiency.
ACTIONS
Create a "summer university for women" during August 2002 in order to develop exchanges between women from all over Europe. This university would be the beginning of a larger project over the years.
STEPS
In cooperation with the NGO "congesolidaire.org", we would like to plan the following:
1) In the first year,
a University to take place over 5 weeks in the same place (location to be defined) with a multi-disciplinary team, completely bilingual (englishand/or french) and 30% people speaking italian, + 2 interpreters Albanian/English and Albanian/French (and specialists in psychology, organisation, training etc.)
Women from outside Albania would commit themselves to spend a week in the University and could travel later on.
Close cooperation with women in the Albanian associations is planned.
Transparent financial organisation is a must.
Different workshops such as:
- intercultural training,
- languages (albanian, english, italian, french, german, etc according to skills available)
- introduction to computers
- training to on/for the internet
- group dynamic and organisation
A "co-op" company could be created to take part in a larger project of an "international business company" to sell products made by women.
An evaluation will be made by an independent organisation
2) In the following years,
it could be interesting to create more "workshops" and "learning units" in order to organise training "all the year round".
After two years, it should be an independent body run by the Albanian women with an "umbrella" association.
WE ARE looking for the following organisations (profit and non-profit):
- Travel agencies,
- Computer brokers,
- European non-profit organisations,
- University women (individual and in groups),
- as many womens' associations as possible,
- Council of Europe,
- Club Méditerranée ...
