Since I started this project in january 1983, there have been quite a lot of articles written in the media (mostly in France) and we would be delighted to send you a short resumé, if need be. On the other hand, we act like a "press agency" and if you are looking for a special type of women, after receiving a short list of criteria, we can find the right person among our data base of some 5,000 women in Europe.
Here is an interview made by a franco-american artist and journalist: -What means for you being European since 7 years old?
Brigitte Cassigneul: As far as I remember, I always had a deep thirst of understanding people and knowledge. I remember being in a boarding school at the age of 7, walking around with my pen and paper note, asking for the oldest girls to write on it words in English for me! I was so pleased to read them again and again. I knew that I would make myself understanding if I could speak other language.
-What is for you acting as a Citizen of the World? BC: Well in ad equation with my personality, I guess it's being in the same time French by my intellectual and cartesianism background, American for pragmatism management and business, and Latin for my social life. I do have a certain sense of civism. As a citizen I feel our first commitment is to vote. I remember once, working in Geneva and coming back to Paris just for voting on Sunday!
-If I ask you who is Brigitte Cassigneul? I would try to say a woman of contrast, being most tenacious and meanwhile impatient! A woman of will and challenge, a networker by birth, who always loved tools, specially computers, as I always realized what computer would bring in term of organization, information etc... That's a funny story, but I sold my car to buy my first apple in 1981!
-What is your secret to be so much full of energy? B. C : I have no secret at all! Being young has nothing to do with age! I'm fifty and each day I feel always ready to become what I want to become, helping the world to become and to go trough. I always get energy I need, question of will and goal. You can see me biking in Paris with my b.Pack and you'll see me few hour after at a cocktail party wearing an evening dress! That's part of the contrast!!!
-What is your quotation?
B.C. : I like the 3 S quotation: Science, Social, Spirituality. Those are the 3 S for success of life.
-What do you expect from Multimedia for the ANNUAIRE AU FEMININ? BC: Well, Multimedia is not only at its unsteady beginnings, it is an essential tool for democratizing information, and this coming to terms, now commonly shared, is welcome and will bring access to what Women's pioneers dreams of. To day, the diverse inspirations, methods, background and interest of producers have led to cool optimism. Multimedia means a new form of working, and it is in progress, to be part of it is breathtaking.
-What do you think the ANNUAIRE AU FEMININ will bring? B .C : I think it's gonna connect all those Women Organisations and Women Networks all together, and make them more united, it will be easier and faster to get information that women needs. Women have essential responsibility to be part of the Multimedia process, I would even say that is a great opportunity for the next 20 years. ANNUAIRE AU FEMININ shall bring a synergy between women and contribute to facilitate professional exchange and makes women community flourish and extremely efficient. I guess ANNUAIRE AU FEMININ must participate in the process of building Europe through citizens concerned in its social and economic development.
