WOMEN'S DIALOGUE
"Dialogue de Femmes"

Founded in 1979 by feminists, this association takes into account the history of women through the ages.
OBJECTIVES
To alert women to the truth of their own condition, a truth that up until now, has been represented only by an "official" history too often told by men.
Because of this fact, the need to transform women's status in society, which includes a positive change in their mentalities and images that concern them, will be therefore stripped off all sectarianism and will be practised in depth.
ACTIONS
The association follows legislation concerning the rights of women. It can act as the civil party in a case of violence against women or in the workplace (discrimination in hiring, for example).
It was involved in the establishment of anti-sexist legislation that would not have even reached the adoption stage had it not been for the association's work and lobbying. ORGANIZATION
The organization is conducted by a board of directors composed of six members who decide the themes that the members will tackle. The meetings take place once a month (ten a year). The participants are exclusively women who receive a report following the conclusion.
The meeting which usually takes place on a Sunday begins at 2:00 pm and ends at 7:00 pm with a break for tea.
A speaker, usually the author of an important book on the topic of the treatment of women, their struggles, their questions, or problems with feminism, presents her work which is then followed by a question and answer period.
A general exchange is established. This allows for a forum for women who wouldn't normally be able to express freely their ideas in mixed company. Bonds are made and actions are put in motion thanks to the work of this group.
