Pluralist association which pushes women to take their place in society.  The UFCS is also a founding member of the" Women's European Lobby" and "Elles Aussi", a political lobby for promoting women.

OBJECTIVES

- To inquire and better understand its environment
- To participate in knowing the causes of decisions that concern them.
- To take responsibility in accordance with its choices.
- To be a pro-active member of society.

ACTIONS

     In the civic world, education, active participation, consumers, and protection of the environment.

EDUCATION

- Different levels of education and visits from business and other institutions
- A deliberately pluralistic association that participates actively in local development.
- One of the six founding associations of "Elles aussi"
- Recently published the results of a survey  on the absence and lack of participation of the French, especially women, in civic life and elections.
- For two years, UFCS has put an emphasis on understanding European institutions

PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT

Information and public awareness

CONSUMER ADVOCACY : 60 different local groups

* Informs, advises and gives strength to the rights of its members
* Intervenes on the part of ministers, administrations, and professionals.
* Throughout the country, promotes product safety and accident prevention in daily life.  Tools: awareness pamphlets, exhibitions, television announcements, (stickers)...
- Legal advocate for consumers.
- Sits on several official, technical and professional organizations: INC, AFNOR, CNA...
- Member of COFACE, CNC (National Consumer Committee).

In Paris, recently, UFCS met with 500 members on the subject of "Women and the Future in Europe".

UCFS publishes the journal "Dialoguer".
